Although the technology is available for you to keep in touch
while
at sea, please do not expect the same speed as your broadband connection at
home, as
the ship is
'wireless’
and
relies
on the data being sent to at least one satellite before it gets to its
destination.
Use your mobile at sea for as little as £1.20 per minute.~ Your mobile phone
should automatically connect to the network. When connected your phone will show
either ‘MCP’ or 901 12’ on the display.
Talk longer for the same price. To use your cabin telephone:
• Press the pre-programmed
‘ship-to-shore’
button
on your telephone.
• Please wait for the voice
prompts.
• For calls to the UK enter
the number as if
dialling
in the UK (include STD Code e.g. 01234 566789).
• For International Calls
enter the international code for the country followed by the number, dropping
the 0 from the STD code.
• If you do not receive a
reply after 10 rings, please replace the handset to avoid being charged a
satellite connection charge.
• Charges will be added to the
shipboard account of the cabin occupant holding the ‘01’ ID.
Up to a 5 minute call
£5.00
between 5 and 10 minutes
£8.00
between 10 and 15 minutes £12.00
Please note that talking for one minute will cost the same as a five minute
call. For assistance please contact
Reception as there is no longer a
Communications Centre
in spite of information to the contrary.
